Raising Children – the Australian parenting website
This website, although directed at Australian parents and addressing issues ranging from pregnancy to adulthood in addition to aspects related to special needs, has a section devoted to teens (aged 12–18 years), with focus areas related to: behaviour (e.g. understanding behaviour, rules and routines, tools and tips); communicating and relationships (e.g. communicating, coping with trauma, understanding feelings, relationships); development (understanding development and physical development); entertainment and technology (common concerns, media, activities, technology); health and wellbeing (health care and concerns, mental health, sexual health, healthy lifestyle); and school, education and work (common concerns, school issues, learning).
Information, videos and the opportunity to be involved in forums may provide supplementary information for you as you navigate the world of teaching adolescents. -
Headspace
Headspace, the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health. Headspace was established in 2006 and is a youth mental health initiative, designed to help young people who are going through a tough time.
