What is RSS?

Really Simple Syndication (RSS) is a type of data format that is used to publish updates for digital content. By subscribing to a particular RSS feed, users can receive any new data placed on that feed.

How do I read an RSS feed?
There are two ways to view an RSS feed. The first is to intall feed reader program (also called an 'aggregator') on to your computer. These programs are designed specifically for reading web feeds.

The second way to view an RSS feed is through your browser, if you have a recent web browser (such as Internet Explorer 7 or the latest version of Firefox). These browsers allow you to subscribe to web feeds, which will then update every time you open the browser.

By default, Firefox will place the feed in the Bookmarks toolbar, just below your navigation tools. The Internet Explorer default is to place the feed in the Feeds section of of the Favorites Center. Press Alt + C to view your favourites.
